Robert B. Gordon field Trial Grounds
|
The National Open Shooting Dog Championship is run on the J. Robert Gordon Field Trial Grounds at Hoffman, North Carolina.
The grounds consist of about 6,000 acres of scattered pine country and open fields. The grounds are just about perfect for the kind of dog described in the Parke Brinkley's description of the National Open Shooting Dog Championship.
Quail are released one time a year. 25 coveys are released with 20 quail per covey on each course. There are six one-hour continuous courses that cover about 31 miles of country.
